Starting February 2023, MBT will host round robin tournaments throughout the US. Our goal ending 2024 is to host 240 tournaments.

As anyone reading this page is well aware, pickleball is now the fastest-growing sport in America for the third year running! Originating as a sport invented by 3 vacationers on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, in 1965, it has surpassed tennis as a player sport in the US, with a reported 36.5 million players and over 10,000 pickleball available courts, per data released by the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP).

There were approximately 50 major pickleball tournaments held in the US in 2023 between the top three pro tours: Major League Pickleball (MLP), The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA), and the American Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP). Given the number of professional pickleball players and the amount of players required to fill a professional tournament draw, 50 is about the limit. This is where MBT comes in.

The three Pro tours are great at what they do - catering to the Pros. MBT solves a different problem. We cater to Amateurs. You might ask how this is different from all other tournaments held throughout the US which cater to amateurs. Well, MBT is standardizing a different model of tournament:

1- Out tournaments are single-day events and are held every Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

2- Tournaments will consist of only four divisions - 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 (medals), and Open (moneyball).

Any age or gender can play.

3- We offer a standardization currently missing in pickleball. Whether you play a tournament in Miami Beach or in Albuquerque, you can expect the same protocol adherence at each event.

4- Tournaments will be played in a round robin format with a minimum of five games guaranteed. We all want our money's worth, but we also want to enjoy the rest of our weekends.

One of the main reasons for pickleball's growth in popularity is the amateur "open play format", allowing players to mix and match with several players in a session, regardless of age or sex. I believe our open format play helps mimic what we've all grown to love about pickleball.

Join us and watch as MBT revolutionizes the way pickleball tournaments are held. Join the team and enjoy the ride!
