MBT was founded by two avid pickleball enthusiasts who realized the need for a platform that not only celebrates the game but also rewards its players by offering an opportunity to compete with great players, potentially win cash, AND play their money's worth in games!

The catalyst was a 3-hour drive to a pro tournament in Atlanta. The founders arrived early morning to a packed venue, immediately began their match which consisted of ONE game to 15 points, lost a close game (15-12), then unceremoniously exited the draw. The duo did not anticipate winning the tournament, but participated for a chance to compete with the best, and hoped for several games of intense competitive play. What they had not anticipated was a 6-hour round-trip drive, a $200 tournament fee, $80 in fuel costs, and a wasted Saturday, all for a 12-minute single-game outing.

MBT was born of our frustration from the high entry fees and lack of play time. MBT offers a solution to this lack of play and high prices by charging a lower entry fee and focusing on a round-robin format, which allows for considerably more playtime than your typical bracket one-and-done tournament format.
WHAT SETS US APART
We’re not your typical tournament. MBT is an event filled with excitement, joining top-tier competition with less-advanced players to make unforgettable memories. Whether you're a seasoned pro, an advance rec player, a weekend warrior, or a newcomer to the sport, there's a place for you at MBT.
Additionally, with MBT, win or lose, you are guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 matches. Depending on entries, you could play as many as 5 matches (win or lose). We’ve all had the experience of spending money on a tournament, driving 3 hours to the location, and getting knocked out of the tournament after an early-morning loss. With MBT, you’ll get your money’s worth in games. Lastly, our tournament will not take up your weekend. MBT tournaments will take place during one action-packed day.

Whether you're a player, a spectator, or a sponsor looking to support this fantastic event, there are numerous ways to get involved with MBT. Join us in celebrating the sport, promoting healthy competition, and creating lasting memories.
FORMAT
MBT will be played in a round-robin format in which participants are organized into a structured rotation of matches, ensuring that each player or team faces every other participant in their bracket. The term "Round-Robin" indicates that there are no elimination rounds; instead, players or teams accumulate wins and points throughout the event.
Matches will consist of single games played to 15 points, with each victory earning points. This inclusive format allows players to enjoy multiple matches and fosters a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship within the pickleball community, all while allowing recreational players the opportunity to play with more competitive players.
DIVISIONS
Open (MoneyBall) Division
The Open Division will have all levels of players, including advanced players and likely some local pros; but any player with a healthy dose of confidence or curiosity, a partner, and a paddle can sign up for the Open Division. Why not challenge yourself and play at a level you’re not likely to enjoy during Rec play? Of course, the Open Division will have cash prizes, with pay-outs going to the 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place finishers.
